Yes, it'll work. i am running my Inspire as well with iPad's

The wifi model does not have builtin GPS. So, if an app want to use GPS it will use an approximate location from a connected hotspot.

Hi looking at buying the inspire 1v2 or pro version the only differences I can see is the camera which is also heavier so less flying time does anybody have any thoughts on this that I can consider

If you are flying with the X5 camera, you should have a TB48 battery installed to get a decent flying time.
Depending on low wind speed and if you do not rush the Inspire to much, you can expect 15-20 min. airtime.
