Just wondering which codec you all would recommend I use when shooting video using the Inspire 1 and editing in Final Cut Pro X. Should I use the .mov or the .mp4 option?

Thanks,

Andy

It's not a codec it's a container and for FCPro it doesn't really matter they are both interchangeable (you can even swap without re-encoding).
MPEG-4 and H.264 are the codecs used on the Inspire Camera.

Main differences are metadata which I doubt would worry you anyway.

Mp4 wrapper is probably more widely accepted throughout different platforms.

Thanks - that's what I needed to know.

You can do.

I used to.

However I have uploaded footage straight of the bird and into FCPX no problem.
