I am considering buying an X5R, my main concern is... in cases in which I don't neet to shoot raw, will the "proxy" file have the same quality that a common X5 camera? Please help me clarify this. thanks!

Have you tried typing in “X5R Proxy” into the search function?

Yes, it's the same as the X5 footage. Highly compressed 8-bit H.264 footage at a too-low data rate.
