To be sure, there are no shortage of opinions on the recent FAA law reversal. Everything from celebration to dread on what is next is expressed. It may be naive to think. However as a glass half full guy, I like to think that we all understand safety and fly responsibly.

In Australia, law makers are debated on whether to put a freeze on drone sales as a result to the recent Isis videos involving drones. Overreaction or a prudent decision on public safety?

They can ban knives, cars, vans, trucks, gasoline, blunt instruments too, while they're at it and ISIS will still find a way to murder innocent people.

It is easy enough to track down, prosecute, and incarcerate/ deport purveyors of the murderous ideology, and let the rest of society enjoy its freedoms.

Banning drone sales is just going to cripple the industry. Criminals are going to still be able to procure and use them against whomever or whatever. Unless the government has a plan on how to completely shut down the black market and prevent illegal immigration, then they are wasting taxpayer resources and time... but isn't that typical of governments?
