X5s zoom lens

Which 14-42 lens is the best for the X5s? And which balance ring is correct?

There are a lot of conflicting reports

I tried them all and IMHO they all were garbage.
The best any of them would do was to zoom, then shoot.
But no smooth zoom while shooting video.
