WTB: DJI X4S/X5S Camera box only (UK)

Hi all, This may be a strange request but I'm looking to buy an additional Gimbal/Camera box. It needs to be the hard plastic box that the DJI X4S/X5S gimals/cameras come in and I'm just after the box and the innards. I intend to use it to safely store my two Oly lenses, balance rings and ND...

LowePro Droneguard Inspired Backpack - ordering & item review

Hi Mark, I am still extremely impressed and happy with this backpack. I've used it weekly since buying it, including several long hikes, and it's held up beautifully. I still strongly recommend it and I'm sure you'll love it as well. All the best, Danny

LowePro Droneguard Inspired Backpack - ordering & item review

Hi all, Being based in the UK has meant that it has been difficult to source the above named backpack for my Inspire 2. There are a couple of companies who claim to have the item (namely, Heliguys, Wex Photography, Park Cameras, Hobbyhut) but they are usually out of stock and new stock takes...

    Hobbyist drone insurance (UK)

Hi all, This is going to be a UK centric post which I hope is OK with all of you who reside outside of the UK. I've been looking to get insurance (both for liability and theft/damage) but on a hobbyist basis for quite some time now and have found that none of the well known drone insurance...

    ND4-ND8-ND16 polarpro or neewer?

Hi, I also use the Polar Pro ND filters with my X4S (and X5S as well although they are of a different size) and find them really good. The colour tone is pretty neutral compared to some other filters I've seen (but not tried myself). I'd go for quality over price and would recommend Polar Pro...

Big thumbs up for Polar Pro - custom order

Hi all, I wanted to provide a review of my experience dealing with Polar Pro on a custom order. What I was after: ND8, ND16 and ND32 filters for Inspire 2 X5S gimbal with Olympus 45mm lens. My experience: This is not something that Polar Pro offer as a "ready made" product so I contacted them...

    I2, X4S & X5S firmware updating sequence

Thanks for the feedback Casey - much appreciated. Although I've not taken the bird out for a flight yet (it's raining ... again ...) I have had the X5S attached and it didn't ask for an update to the FW. Switched it to the X4S and again no dramas so I think I'm probably all good for my next...

    I2, X4S & X5S firmware updating sequence

Hi Rob, Many thanks for your feedback. I hadn't considered needing to do a VPS calibration every time the gimbal/lens is changed. I shall have to look into the correct procedure for this as I haven't had to do it before. Even though I quite like the quality and angle of view of the X4S I can...

    I2, X4S & X5S firmware updating sequence

Hello all! I've not posted in a while because I've been working abroad and haven't had much of a chance to fly the I2. However, I'm back in the UK and as per usual the weather is crap but ... I've got an X5S and Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm lens coming today to complement the X4S I've already got...

Obtaining permission to fly over private land (UK)

That is a very good point you make and one worth noting. I'm fairly well versed with the ins and outs of the UK drone code but I had forgotten about that little "loophole". Having said that, I do think it's better to get permission prior to overflying private land. Thanks for your feedback :-)...

Obtaining permission to fly over private land (UK)

Hi Nick & Simon, Many thanks for your thoughts and feedback. I agree that the best (if not only) way forward is to obtain permission of the landowner prior to flying. Interesting thought about local school fields - I hadn't thought of that as the schools near me have buildings fairly close to...

Obtaining permission to fly over private land (UK)

Hi guys! This may be a simplistic question and somewhat UK-centric but it's something I'd like to ask your opinion on. I recently bought an i2 which I intend to use for personal and recreational purposes. I live in rural Warwickshire (UK) and have a lot of farm land and fields around me. These...

Gentlemen, Many thanks for the warm welcome :-) @halliday john : I can blame my wife for many things but I suspect you're right about the X5S ;-) @huppe : Thanks for the welcome. I hope you haven't been blown away during today's storm ... My parents' sailboat sustained some damage in...

Greetings from a new Inspire 2 pilot in Warwickshire, UK

Hello all! Greetings from Shakespeare's countryside, Warwickshire - UK :-) I've been reading this forum for a while now and having recently purchased an Inspire 2 (currently with X4S camera) I thought it high time to introduce myself. My name is Dan and I'm a Dutchman living in the UK since...
