Carry On barebone Inspire 2 on international flight?

What if I take out the Inspire 2, wrap it with cloth or light bubbles and just carryon the bird and stow it in the overhead compartment? I've seen musicians only carry their naked instruments without the case.

Agree with @SinMaster21, I would definitely put it in something like a GPC Case and check it. Or you could hold it in your lap the entire flight to be on the safe side!

if you own this type of equipment at this price point, why risk the value carrying it around without a case? Spend the money on a quality GPC case, or sell it and buy a Mavic 2 pro for your traveling purposes.
