Just got this I1 pro a few days ago. Have done a few fly arounds in my yard to get used to how it handles, left the yard today and circled the wilderness property across the road for like 10 min. Showed 68% on controller and I was thinking that was high for the expected flight time for this bird. Had a bite to eat and then decided to fly again. Battery had 2 green and a blinker. Before I could get it 50’ the warning popped up and gear was going down and it was too. Got it landed ok, pulled the battery and did a check on the green lights. Reinstalled and same deal , that scary red warning 25’ in the air , “your drone is about to crash and burn” (that’s what I was thinking) same high reading on controller 63%. This was the only battery I got that worked from the seller. He said he got it 6 months ago. I’m glad i bought an extra battery here a few days ago. It’s working perfect. Used it after the “critical battery error” warning and flew until 27% and got a “low battery” warning and landed. I’ll need to take a closer look at the battery I got with the drone.

Drain the battery to 0% to refresh it. Keep in mind that "0%" is NOT zero voltage. Just keep everything plugged in and allow the battery to drain slowly over time without flying the drone. When the drone shuts down, fired it back up and let it drain again until the drone shuts down again. Then fully charge the battery. Then fly to see if it's any better. If not, repeat the process. If it's not better after the second draining, the battery is no longer safe for flight.

I repurpose my drone batteries for other tasks. Presently, my old Inspire 1 batteries power my field monitor.

I’m going to fire it up today, I got the battery charged fully now. I want to see what each cell is doing at full charge and see the count. Thanks for the tip. Just bought another battery off the classified here yesterday,so I have two good ones. I noticed the battery that came with the drone is a bit beat up. Like someone was tossing these into a huge pile from 10’ away. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

This is what shows on that battery, I don’t see anything that looks like the battery can’t be trusted. Low count and cells look good from charging yesterday and just now checking them. Anyone with some experience see anything indicative of “don’t fly with that battery because……..” ? Don’t know why it showed “63%” and then throws the “warning critical battery error” just after liftoff. I think the previous flight drained most of the battery and for some reason it just didn’t click in the circuit board inside battery cap. Next flight I will go to the battery menu 5 minutes into the flight and see what it shows vs what the controller display shows.

Check those battery voltages while she's flying. Especially under full throttle ascent. Some cells might go in the orange but none should go in the red.

It has a low charge count and it’s max capacity is 4676. This a TB47 with a TB48 label?

Looking at the battery exterior it seems it was opened for some reason, cell replacement or something else.
Do what Donnie suggest to recalibrate the battery. Personally with this battery I will only hoover at 1m altitude for recalibration or testing and will avoid full throttle. If the battery got fixed and can hoover to 30% without errors you can try to punch the throttle on the next flight.

I have two good batteries I got here off the classifieds, this battery I’ll mess with it like y’all recommended, but i don’t trust it to leave the yard or go past 6’ altitude. Risk vs reward , risk heavily outweighs the reward. If it perks up and falls inline with these other two batteries on the battery health meter, then it will get some airtime.

I just went to the kitchen to get another cup of coffee, I noticed the battery in question lit up and top Y and red dot blinking. I didn’t turn this on or even get closer than 3’ to it. I touched the red dot and it went out. Anyone know why this battery would suddenly light up like that? Battery was fully charged sitting on shelf. IMG_5209.jpeg

If it can successfully hover in place (3' over grass) through two entire battery cycles, you can start flying it around to build trust.

From memory zero is 22.3v. I use a Smartcharger 100 to refresh /discharge my batteries. I also charge every batteries every 4 months and log individual cell voltages. This way you can keep track of battery deterioration. I find my batteries loose about 0.1v every 4 months which isn’t too bad for LiPo’s
