My friend, with all due respect, without the ability to look up the specifications, this could be any kind of Chinese knock off (yes, the Chinese DO counterfeit their own Chinese products). There should be some kind of nomenclature either somewhere ON the case or IN the case in the form of a pamphlet or instruction manual.

The main reason for needing the model number is so I can look up the specifications. I could just ask you, "Does this unit charge the batteries in parallel or series?" But not everybody knows what that means. So I just thought it would be quicker to just look it up myself.

- Quick Mode: Simultaneously charges up to 4 batteries (two groups of 2) to 90% first, then to 100%.
- Silent Mode: Reduces charging current, fan speed, and disables beeper for quieter operation.

Before I challenged the "charges 8 batteries SIMULTANEOUSLY" assertion, I wanted to have my facts straight. As you can see @mediafriend , this charger only charges FOUR batteries "simultaneously." Not 8, as you claimed. Twice. You might want to change your ad.

As always, RTFM - especially if you're going to list an item in an industry-specific forum. Some folks might take offense to demonstratively false claims.

That is straight from the DJI site. It also states in the instruction manual that in normal mode it will SIMULTANEOUSLY charge 8 once voltages are matched between banks.

I don't doubt that you probably found some hyperbolic claims from some third-party seller or in the DJI SALES nomenclature. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you may have SEEN that erroneous claim in a sales "Introduction" or other nomenclature, but I would challenge you that it self refutes in the DJI Manual. The manual is VERY specific.

Well, well, well...look what I found. DJI directly conflicts its own claims right there in the manual within the span of a single paragraph!! Chinenglish.




The last sentence directly conflicts with the first sentence. Take my word for it. This charger does NOT charge 8 batteries at once or "simultaneously." You can INSERT 8 batteries, but only TWO will charge "simultaneously" IF they are IN THE SAME COLUMN. The last sentence of the above screenshot should read, "Up to 8 batteries can be charged SEQUENTIALLY." Not "simultaneously." Chinenglish.

I see where a layman or housewife might be fooled by the conflicting claims within a single paragraph, but we are neither. We are professionals. We are technophiles. The direct conflict sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

OR...that C and D start charging once A and B reach 90%. Once A, B, C and D ALL reach 90%, THEN they all finish the remaining 10% equally.

Either way, this is NOT "charging 8 batteries simultaneously." The math simply doesn't work out. No U.S. receptacle can provide enough current to charge 8 batteries simultaneously (assuming 180watt charge per battery).

I invite you to challenge or refute anything I have purported here.

The only problem is that you are debating if it does this ALL of the time. None of us are debating that. The charger for sale in this thread most certainly does NOT charge 8 batteries ALL at once regardless of capacity.

Because the manual conflicts with itself. I'm not going to hold your hand through the nomenclature. It spends a paragraph describing the charging algorithm in detail, and then the last sentence blows the entire paragraph out of the water with "charges 8 batteries simultaneously." I don't know any way to make that point any clearer.

I find it quite interesting that you show an old Inspire 1 charger charging 6 batteries as evidence that the BS50 does not.

DJI says the BS50 "charges up to 8 batteries simultaneously," which sounds amazing for pros needing quick turnaround. But the manual adds a twist: it prioritizes 'lower charged' batteries in pairs first.

If you still don't get it, then I give up. Go ahead and buy it or sell it. Your expectations will be forcefully managed when the thing simply fails to charge all the batteries at once.
