I am not aware of a model#. I am not saying there isn't one but prior to my purchase it was only advertised as a DJI TB 50 battery station.

My friend, with all due respect, without the ability to look up the specifications, this could be any kind of Chinese knock off (yes, the Chinese DO counterfeit their own Chinese products). There should be some kind of nomenclature either somewhere ON the case or IN the case in the form of a pamphlet or instruction manual.

The main reason for needing the model number is so I can look up the specifications. I could just ask you, "Does this unit charge the batteries in parallel or series?" But not everybody knows what that means. So I just thought it would be quicker to just look it up myself.

Here's what I was looking for:

Charging Modes
- Normal Mode: Charges batteries sequentially based on voltage levels (prioritizes lower-voltage batteries).
- Quick Mode: Simultaneously charges up to 4 batteries (two groups of 2) to 90% first, then to 100%.
- Silent Mode: Reduces charging current, fan speed, and disables beeper for quieter operation.

Before I challenged the "charges 8 batteries SIMULTANEOUSLY" assertion, I wanted to have my facts straight. As you can see @mediafriend , this charger only charges FOUR batteries "simultaneously." Not 8, as you claimed. Twice. You might want to change your ad.

As always, RTFM - especially if you're going to list an item in an industry-specific forum. Some folks might take offense to demonstratively false claims.

Here we go again. Leave the man alone. He is quoting DJI!!!

In Normal mode, eight connected TB50 Intelligent Batteries can be charged simultaneously, until all batteries are fully charged.

That is straight from the DJI site. It also states in the instruction manual that in normal mode it will SIMULTANEOUSLY charge 8 once voltages are matched between banks.

Ugh...yer killing me. I invite you both to read the manual more carefully.

Nope. Wrong. Read the manual. Carefully.

I don't doubt that you probably found some hyperbolic claims from some third-party seller or in the DJI SALES nomenclature. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you may have SEEN that erroneous claim in a sales "Introduction" or other nomenclature, but I would challenge you that it self refutes in the DJI Manual. The manual is VERY specific.

Well, well, well...look what I found. DJI directly conflicts its own claims right there in the manual within the span of a single paragraph!! Chinenglish.

The last sentence directly conflicts with the first sentence. Take my word for it. This charger does NOT charge 8 batteries at once or "simultaneously." You can INSERT 8 batteries, but only TWO will charge "simultaneously" IF they are IN THE SAME COLUMN. The last sentence of the above screenshot should read, "Up to 8 batteries can be charged SEQUENTIALLY." Not "simultaneously." Chinenglish.

I see where a layman or housewife might be fooled by the conflicting claims within a single paragraph, but we are neither. We are professionals. We are technophiles. The direct conflict sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Well...that's a stretch. Read closely.

The last word of the above paragraph should be "sequentially." 8 batteries most certainly do NOT charge "simultaneously" or "all at once and equally."

AND here's "Quick mode"...

1764108044374.png
1764108270088.png

This can either mean that columns C and D don't charge at all until A and B are fully charged.

OR...that C and D start charging once A and B reach 90%. Once A, B, C and D ALL reach 90%, THEN they all finish the remaining 10% equally.

Either way, this is NOT "charging 8 batteries simultaneously." The math simply doesn't work out. No U.S. receptacle can provide enough current to charge 8 batteries simultaneously (assuming 180watt charge per battery).

I invite you to challenge or refute anything I have purported here.

You keep assuming youbare correct and dji and everyone else is wrong. I copied the info straight from the freakin dji manual and you still argue.

Ridiculous really.

Furthermore; in the original for sale post you state it does exactly what we are saying. It brings them up to equal V and then charges simultaneously. The only problem is that you are debating if it does this ALL of the time. None of us are debating that. We are just stating it does what the manual says, which at one point you agreed is possible but yet you double down again and argue that it is impossible. In NORMAL mode only.

Sort of. As I pointed out, DJI's own manual conflicts with itself. It does NOT charge 8 batteries "simultaneously." Want to put your money where your mouth is?

Then bet me. I'll bet you $100 this charger does NOT charge 8 batteries all at once.

Charging 8 batteries simultaneously would show LED activity for 8 batteries at a time. They would charge REGARDLESS of their capacity. I OWN a charger that charges 6 batteries SIMULTANEOUSLY. The charger for sale in this thread most certainly does NOT charge 8 batteries ALL at once regardless of capacity.

I argued that it is possible that you READ the claim, but IMPOSSIBLE that the charger MEETS the claim.

Put your money where your mouth is. Bet me $100. Insert 8 batteries of varying capacities and take video of all 8 of the batteries receiving a charge at once. Insert 8 batteries all with < 70% capacity. All 8 should charge at once. If not, then I am correct.

This is what it looks like when 6 batteries charge "simultaneously." Notice they are ALL receiving a charge REGARDLESS of remaining capacity. Notice that ALL 6 of the battery LED's are showing charging activity.

I guarantee that the charger for sale in this thread does not do this. I accept Paypal.

I wish I had the charger here to try. I see no reason to doubt dji’s manual.

I find it quite interesting that you show an old Inspire 1 charger charging 6 batteries as evidence that the BS50 does not.

Because the manual conflicts with itself. I'm not going to hold your hand through the nomenclature. It spends a paragraph describing the charging algorithm in detail, and then the last sentence blows the entire paragraph out of the water with "charges 8 batteries simultaneously." I don't know any way to make that point any clearer.

LOL...seriously? THAT is what you got out of my photo?

I used the Inspire 1 charger to DEMONSTRATE what "simultaneous charging" looks like. I then challenged you to bet $100, which you ignored. What are you afraid of? Man up. Put your money where your mouth is.

Even AI says you are mistaken.

Drawing from DJI nomenclature, no doubt:

Okay...one more time....

Understanding the DJI Battery Station (BS50) Charging Behavior:

The DJI BS50 Battery Station for TB50 Intelligent Batteries is marketed as capable of charging up to 8 batteries "simultaneously," but the reality is more nuanced due to its intelligent power management system. This can lead to confusion, as the manual describes a sequential or prioritized charging process for batteries with voltage differences.

The canary in the cave; If the charger simply charged 8 batteries at once, there would be no need for "intelligent battery management." It would simply push electrical current all batteries at the same time without prejudice.

The manual's "nomenclature conflict" stems from pair-based prioritization, which can feel sequential if you're watching LEDs or monitoring casually. DJI uses "up to eight simultaneously" to reflect the capability under a singularly rare condition that is FAR from covering every scenario. Ergo, the False Claim: "Charges 8 Batteries All at Once (Truly Simultaneous, No Exceptions)" The misconception often arises from marketing blurbs emphasizing "simultaneous" without caveats, leading people to expect: "All 8 batteries receiving equal current from the moment you plug in, regardless of their starting levels." Ergo, no prioritization or pausing for balancing—pure parallel charging like a basic multi-port wall charger.

While this isn't strictly false advertising, technically it kind of is because the typical, technically-unsavvy user might not critically think his way through the DJI nomenclature - where/how DJI qualifies their claim with "up to." It's easy to misinterpret as "always all 8 at full speed." The prioritization isn't "charging one at a time" across all 8—it's a smart, pair-specific adjustment that still allows multi-battery progress. If batteries start evenly, it's truly simultaneous for all. But when was the last time you had 8 batteries that were all discharged to the exact, same level??? To make someone understand the difference, one must tart this out by using simple analogies, visual aids and evidence....which I have done, ad nauseum.

DJI says the BS50 "charges up to 8 batteries simultaneously," which sounds amazing for pros needing quick turnaround. But the manual adds a twist: it prioritizes 'lower charged' batteries in pairs first.

If you still don't get it, then I give up. Go ahead and buy it or sell it. Your expectations will be forcefully managed when the thing simply fails to charge all the batteries at once.

Best of luck. Happy Thanxgiving.
