Inspire 1 and RC won't communicate

So this problem only began after updating the 2 firmware's.
Text message says I have latest firmware.
Prior to updating I was getting an error message saying there is a newer firmware available but it still flew and communicated. Now they wont even talk to each other (red no connection message on top of camera view page).

Any advice?

You have tried rebinding remote to the aircraft yes?
Page 32 of the user manual.

Yes, and pressed the red button on the bird. The countdown continued right to the end and timed out with no result.
