I have some time on my hands and I decided to install a Caddx Vist on my old Inspire 1. I use my DJI goggles from my FPV setup and I am very satisfied with the results. Some of you will ask why I need an FPV camera on the inspire. The answer is, that I film most of the time with my 360 camera. The camera is heavy and I save pretty much weight when I remove the X5 in that way I can preserve the battery and I stay in the air more. It will be awesome if I can get some OSD info in my goggles but that is a different story and more digging. If anyone knows anything about how we can do that it will be really great. Anyway, I am satisfied so far and I have to take the goggles away sometimes to look at the battery percentage which is not a big deal.

Love the ingenuity! Best advice I think you can give to a new pilot is to not get caught up in buying new platforms constantly. Great work evolving the Inspire 1! It’s an outstanding aircraft.

I agree Still one of my favorites wish I had mine yet . Sold my 1 and 2 waiting for 3 .

Very simple and clean what are you doing for power?

Just curious...

If memory serves, the X3 is < half the weight of the X5. I'm curious to know what the X3 weighs compared to the Caddx system. Again, going off memory, I believe my X3 weighs 250g (amazing entire drones weigh less than that now). It would be interesting to know how much weight you saved over the X3.

I do not think so in basic config one level above M3 so 4k? without camera

Your setup looks nice and clean! Can you share the STL for the vista plate/bracket?
I'm wondering how you mounted the camera in the nose, any 3d print accessory for that? Mine is with hotglue :D

Camera is attached to nose mount assembly as shown. I has adaptor to fit CaddX Vista or DJI Air (shown in photo)
I do not release my designs. You can buy complete mount and fasteners for 25% off if you mention the Inspire Pilot forum.
I had a few of the mounts available as STL for 50% off for customers out of US however, little interest and it was a hassel to process
non shipped items through eBay.

I've made my own design and it works prettty well. It took me several tryouts for the camera mount but I'm happy from the outcome as the camera is mounted on the body while the nose cone is completelly free and this makes it very easy to remove the nose cone for further maintanance or changing the camera angle. Both designs are "clip on" on Inspire's frame, they stay very firm and safe and can be easy removed and reinstalled. Printed with NylonCarbon fillament which is a little more elastic than PLA.

Here are the STL files for free:

The camera bracket photos are from the previous version but the design photos show the late version.

Nice custom fit. I try to design for universal non custom look. Yours is perfect if you want a custom fit on Inspire 1. My design is
used on any Inspire and more importantly on all types of RC models Jets, Trucks boats which is were I sell the most.
Thanks for info.

Thanks for sharing the designs.

How did you manage to tap into power? Looking to do this mod with the Dji 03 air unit..

I'm getting power from the battery terminals, it's 6s battery and vista supports that voltage.
For that purpose I've disassembled the inspire to get to the terminals soldering points and soldered Vista's power wires directly to them. You'll need a powerful soldering iron as well skills to do not compromise Inspire's power by doing this mod. I also installed a power switch on those wires so to switch the Vista on and off only when needed or before takeoff as it can get fried if powered for too long on the ground.
Recently I've switched to Walksnail, because they have reciever with HDMI output and it's more comfortable to use FPV monitor rather than being with the googles. That way I can see what the X5R is shooting at and do necessary changes in flight. Wathching both monitors Camera feed and FPV feed siede by side is the best way so far for dual operator.
