IPad mini or the full size IPad with the Inspire? Your thoughts?

What do you recommend for the 2nd controller monitor?

I switched to the Air 2 and it is WAY FASTER than the Mini 2 or 3. I also need the bigger size for my old eyes. The only draw back is the extra weight. I know it's not much, but every little bit adds up and over time you get tired holding up all this stuff.
Try holding up the controller and IPad with no harness for an hour or more accumulated time!!

You who have the Mini 2/3 and it works fine for.. Have you updated to the latest IOS?

iPad mini 2 wifi/LTE iOS v8.1.1 works well. No jerkiness or other such issues.

I am using a iPad Mini 2 for the master (pilot) controller and a iPad Air 2 on the slave (camera) controller. Both work very well and the iPad Air 2 gives the camera operator a larger and clear picture. I went for a 32GB iPad Mini 2 as these are available cheaper than the new iPad Mini 3 with the same processor. It is ideal for following the cached map while maintaining eyes-on of the Inspire 1.

The only thing with the mini 3 is I like the touch portion instead of typing in a number. Minor thing and the 128 gig is nice. A no brainier on the Air 2. Way faster!
