on app how do I find what firmware I am running

You will not get that information from the App. Just the individual components. To be sure you can look at the hidden folder, MISC, which has another hidden folder, LOG. I that folder will be a txt file the last entry shows the firmware versions for the last update.

In the app the version info is in settings pane (gear icon) and "About" at the bottom.

Correct but only the individual components. The firmware number is not shown anywhere. The only indication is that in the status screen it will tell you that your firmware is up to date or not if you have a internet connection.

Yes but that allows comparing with the individual versions several people have posted.

BTW release notes should list the current individual versions.
