The Government has now published the results of its consultation on the future use of Drones in the UK. I have provided links to relevant documents which members who fly drones will find useful. There are references to model flying clubs and the BMFA so it is worth a read.

There was also an interesting report on collision damage which can be found here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/drones-and-manned-aircraft-collisions-test-results.

The consultation document is here https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/benefits-of-drones-to-the-uk-economy

And the press release is here https://www.gov.uk/government/news/drones-to-be-registered-and-users-to-sit-safety-tests-under-new-government-rules

Happy reading.

Interesting to see how few responses they got from within the industry :( As an industry, we really do need to engage with these consultations much more as they have profound effects on what we do.

On a side note, it's interesting to see the other worms wriggling on the hooks...
BMFA trying to stop their models having to be registered etc too...
GA trying to deny that having electronic ID/perspicuity aids would be of benefit....
A lot of GA not having even read the drone code or being aware of it....
