Since the Android version of the new app is not out yet, are there any issues using the old software with the new firmware? I'm not talking about actual updating or issues because of the firmware, but just with the use of the older Android Pilot App.

...as stated before, by some fellow pilot, android user and upgrading with uncommunicated/bricked bird,.... if not broken, do not fix.
Wait for the weekend experiences and take a chance.
I'm grounded.

The Pilot app still works with the latest firmware Updates on Android devices specified on DJI's support site.. I flew several flights today with out issues. It is also known that the Pilot app will automatically try to update to DJI Go once it is released for Android.

The only issue I had after running the latest firmware on Android was a few no signals here and there. I solved that by rebinding the controller. It's more stable now.
