Precise Fly Database: Avoid it?

I've been getting that "A Precise Fly Safe Database update required" message for quite some time now. I've always interpreted it to actually mean "please let us install a means to keep you from flying in certain areas regardless of your clearance etc etc.

If I accidentally click on "update Now" instead of "ignore" will I really be opening myself up to the sort of hassles I fear? What does this thing actually do?

In 'The rest of the World' DJI just seems to implement a circular set of no-fly zones, but in China they can be irregular shapes - I think the precise fly safe database is the bit that allows no-fly zones to be an irregular shape instead of just a circle inside China... so at the moment I don't think it'll have any impact on the rest of us... other than a nag screen if you don't update it.

Thank you for the information. I think for the time being I'd rather be nagged than grounded. But at least I know if I DO click the wrong one, it's probably not the end of the world. Just what I needed to know.
