...that is my question.

I have a my new I2 on the way but I wanted to check in with everyone to see if I should update to the latest firmware or not? I know from my I1 there were some releases that were more stable than others and I definitely do not want to start out with bugs on my I2. Thank you!

I bought mine out of Best Buy and updated it immediately right out of the box. If it failed, I could take it back the same day and get another which I have done in the past three times with a Phantom. If I had waited more than 14 days, then I would have to send it to DJI, play their email, chat, and RMA game, and then wait it out for service or a refurb and pray.

No assurance with DJI that the next firmware or GO 4 will be any better than the prior one either.

Your decision.

Well I'm definitely glad I asked but that doesn't sound too promising about future updates...

Now I'm curious what firmware mine will arrive with.

Held off updating for a few weeks as I had a shoot that wouldn't be repeatable for a year. Once that was out of the way, I updated last week - latest firmware and latest DJI Go 4. Around 3 hours airtime since and so far so good - no problems, no funny business.

If you do update, just make sure to go back through DJI Go 4 and check all your settings are as you want them afterwards - the updates can and do turn bits on/off and change values, so best to double check.

If I was you I wouldn't update. There's lots of potential issues with range, camera yaw, disconnection etc I only wish I could roll back myself.

Thank you. I've flown her a little bit today and haven't noticed anything "out of sorts" with the existing firmware so I think I may leave "well enough" alone.

If DJI would spend less time on the "not very popular" GEO and more on solid firmware performance, everyone including DJI would benefit.

The firmware that you have got is so antique. I an not sure how it works with current Dji Go 4 v 4.1.5. But if you decide to upgrade you will have no choice to roll back.

It seems to be working fine with the GO app but it sounds like maybe I should move up from this "antique" version? Would there be a stable version I would be able to roll back to if this newest version gave me problems?

Last firmware that I updated was 0330 which fixed the gimbal vibration of X4s at aircraft startup occured in 0240. I stay on the version ever since because I see no benefit of later firmware that will enforce the nfz which I will never ever fly into. But Dji now forces all owner not to downgrade the firmware after updated to current version. I think you have just 2 options to stay on the 0240 or go with the current one. Scan through the forum if any serious issue exist with current firmware and how many aircrafts are affected. 0240 has some serious problem with the gimbal vibration.

Don't worry. It will getting better. All issues will be solved eventually. Just takes sometime. The last firmware when the I2 is end of life will be the best. It is almost there. LOL
