What are your hopes and dreams for Inspire Ground Station?

I'm becoming pessimistic about it because of all the bad press lately -- White House incident, Paris drone incident, etc.

DJI will likely kowtow to the Feds and release a GS app that has a 250m max. range. They will then release an official press statement saying something like:

"Now enjoy GPS waypoint flying in your backyard with the Inspire! Hours of fun! No autonomous flights within 10 miles of any airport, national park, or Washington DC".

And that will open up a a great opportunity for us to write our own apps and firmware

They already limited the max. range in the Phantom GS app --- why wouldn't they do the same for the Inspire?

Phantom's Ground Station has 200m altitude limit and 500m distance limit since Day 1 of it's official release.

Not hit a limit distance wise in the PC Ground Station. Each leg of a grid survey has been 1km for me.

Sorry Mitch, you're just wrong on this one. I have plenty of videos on YT, including a couple of popular tutorial videos on using GS for the Phantom and there is no such thing as the maximum altitude or range limit. As a matter of fact, most of my GS flights are over 2000 - 3000 metres from take off point.
