I just figured out how to overlay the two video streams so it looks similar to what you see when looking at the crystal sky with pip:

I’m new to matrice and still learning. When you press record, do both z30 and xt cameras record at the same time?

If so, then yes, you could overlay both videos on top of each other.

The xt2 with 640 camera is less than 1/3 of a megapixel, so it’s challenging getting the two video streams to play nicely together.

These are two completely separate video streams. Even though matrice lets the pilot see pip on the screen, it does not record pip, rather it records one file with the regular rgb camera and another file with flir.

The pip in the video was all done in post production.

Also, if you change the zoom on the z30 during a recording it would be difficult to get the flir image to stay lined up.

I’m gonna go try it!
