I purchased a z 3 camera and when I went to download the software noticed "Zenmuse Z3 Preinstall Firmware V01.09.01.30 (Inspire 1)"

What is this? Do I need it? What does it do?

The FAQ's don't address this and the manuals don't mention it.

Also will my x3 camera be interchangeable once I install the z3 or will I have to do a software update if I want to use the x3?
 
X3 and Z3 are interchangeable. Use one one flight, switch to the other next flight without any changes. Z3 worked fine on my Inspire. Not sure about "preinstall". I don't remember doing anything special.
 
That's what I thought, but the pre install thing has me concerned.
 
Mike34787, you have no issues flying and recording with the Z3?
 
No issues. Got an Osmo handle for Christmas, worked fine with it.
 


Unfortunately I purchased the Z3 and I have lotsa issues... I had to send it back to DJI for a replacement...

No way to fix with software updates...
 
I have issues with lag while making videos. I have no idea what i should do.
