While just about any pack frame will work to carry the Inspire 1, in the provided carry case, the folks at mystery ranch make amazing packs that can carry huge loads comfortably (that is why they are the pack of choice for military special forces, wildland firer fighters, and big game hunters). Checkout their offerings...the owner is the same guy that designed and built Dana Design packs (the original terraplane, astroplane and bomb packs)back in the 90's prior to being bought out by K2sports

Nope, I wouldn't put my $3k+ Inspire 1 in that thing if you gave it to me for free! What a dumb idea...
Looks pretty comfy to me, just put the whole box on/in it. Are you thinking he means put the inspire in without the box???

Doesn't seem like a dumb idea to me

I'm looking for something a bit more compact than the case it comes with to carry mine around. I drive a very small car and the case doesn't fit inside lol. I'm thinking about trying out that backpack in the post above this. Would be nice to be able to carry it on my back (short distances obviously, no hiking as I'd be afraid of rubbing the motors on things I walk past/through). Anyone else found any compact solutions?

Here's the ALICE frame

And these are the Velcro straps. It took two packs of five. You'll have two spares.

Much better than the time I carried the case 2.5 miles!!!

I really like this idea! and picked myself up this same setup. curious if you or anybody else knows if it would work the same with the gpc cases? Seems like it would no problems.

i constructed a backpack soleley for the i1. i have a nitting guy and he will finish the prototype by end of may.
it will fit 6+1 in AC batteries, two remotes, tab, laptop, the camera in its case or on craft where it is snug. i constructed it so it has a tight fit. it will also have a raincover for hiking or motorbike users.

how much would you be willing to pay for a custom made backpack? it will fit everything that the original case can but is more compact and is also rain proof and can be put away in landing mode...
please take into account the planning time, prototype produtcion, material and labor working time... and please don't forget some profit :D
i welcome all proposals. lets see who will be the closest to the final price :)
