Do any of you have recommendations on filters to use with the Olympus 45mm lens. It appears to be a 37mm thread size. I commonly use Polar Pro PL filters but of course they are not available in 37mm.

Dang, and I just purchased one. Oh well good to know. Thanks!

i purchased the balancing ring and never have used it, i always use a step up ring with either a ND or UV filter and that works quite well , depending on the weight of the filter you may have to use a counter weight on the back of the camera.

So speaking from experience, do you basically just eyeball it from the side to see if its level and the gimbal doesn't droop over the course of a few seconds?

You know what would be so convenient to counter weight. If you could just use tiny magnets and add to the back to balance. Of course I would never even attempt that and I'm sure it would cause serious problems. There gotta be a good way to do that.

Fun-Tak sticks well and is used by many pilots.
With gimbal powered off it should stay anywhere you put it. Not falling forward or rearward. (Lens cap off of course)
Also look at roll balance. (Side to side) With a 45mm Olympus lens, I had to fun-tak a penny to the tilt axis cover to correct roll balance.

Holds safe? Also, Am I correct on how to determine balance - eyeball and watch for gimbal movement?

for the Olympus 45mm I used a command strip with velcro on the back of a quarter and put a strip on the back of the camera so its easily removable when using other lenses and doesn't collect dust and gunk. i felt a little more comfortable with velcro command strips than using the putty method.

for balancing power off the inspire2 and watch what the "gimbra" does, make sure its level @ 90 degrees with the power off so you don't stress the gimbal motors and create micro twitches during flight. Put it into sport mode once its done and give it some good speed to ensure you don't see excess jello or twitches in your video

With the 45mm, you shouldn't need any counter weights on it at all. I am using the aforementioned "Sensei PRO 37mm Lens to 46mm Step Up Ring" along with a PolarPro ND filter. This setup creates a perfect balance with no need to modify or tape anything to your gimbal. I currently own all the approved Olympus lenses , and they will all balance fine with an ND filter. If you have the DJI 15mm lens, you can also take the balancing ring that comes with that lens, and put it on your other lenses to balance them out if not using ND filters.

Same here. No extra balancing needed outside of step up ring and PP ND. I suppose there could be tolerance variations requiring some balancing in the roll...

it depends on the weight of your filter(s) and or step-up ring combo, I use Tiffon filters which seem to be a bit heavier than the polar pros, not everyone uses the same filters and rings, so different configurations may require it ;)

Yes you are correct! Sorry I didn't clarify because the OP said he is using PolarPro filters. Rock On!! :)
