I bought a Inspire 1 kit! FPV modules/mods in 2025?

So the Inspire 1 drone kit came with 2 controllers. I know the Inspire 1 doesn't have a secondary FPV camera. I want to have the pilot flying to have "Fixed FPV" ahead while the second operator can only control the camera gimbal.

Has anyone done this recently in 2025? Anyone in USA who does these modifications?

BTW - I only had a $1200 budget. So the Inspire 2 was out of the question even thought it already has FPV operation for pilot. I have $300 left in my budget to hopefully find a mod!

Thank you and keep soaring!

Set up a discreet camera system using FatShark FPV goggles. FPV cameras are small and light enough now that you can Velcro the camera to the bird. I thought about doing this a while ago but abandoned the project. FPV cameras are cheap, and I'm sure there are a pair of Dominator 2 goggles on eBay somewhere that fit within your budget.

Thank you!

I have a pair of XR glasses. Do you know if there are long range transmitters and recievers that support USB C display? I was hoping to not buy FatShark Goggles so I can use in what I already have!

Well...you said you had 300 bucks. So, that's the answer I gave. The seed I gave you to send you on your own research journey was, "Set up a discreet camera system using FatShark FPV goggles." So now you know discreet FPV systems exist and you can research accordingly. As I said, "I WAS going to set this up, but did not."

Back in the day the discreet systems were 5.8Ghz. I imagine that that may have changed since I was doing FPV 10 years ago.

Mine are set with Caddx digital camera and their standalone receiver which has HDMI out. The pilot flying either goggles is not practical that’s why I moved in that direction and using monitor for the fpv feed.

I was in the works searching for a mod kit or ebay had an Inspire 1 company modded drone with the FPV camera in the nose of the drone. The company that did the mods was something like ' DSLRPros'. called them and asked if they still did the mods, had any kits, or even what gear was used. No to all. So I took a shot with a FOX FPV camera, a battery pack, transmitter and multi scan monitor that the company rep assured me that it would connect, at least that's what I think he said, thanks India "Thomeny'. Well, when the monitor didn't connect with the transmitter. I put all the FPV stuff in the box.

Thank you!

Can the XR glasses receive radio signal? If so, from there it's just a small camera and a transmitter. The range of the I1 is not that far. I could get maybe a mile on a good day with line of sight. The FPV transmitter I used had about the same range. I set up a switch on my remote control to switch between the FPV camera and the onboard GoPro (Hero3, if memory serves).

Here's the rig on a Phantom 1:

I still have this drone, so when I get home I can take photos and post them here. Notice that the FatShark goggles are the older ones, NOT the Dominator series.

Initial test video shows the Tx system a little better.

And here's a test flight a mile out.

If you're interested, I will photograph the FPV system I used on this drone and post them here.
