Hello friends

I’ve got this problem with my main I2 remote that drains the battery in a crazy rate. So my first thought of course was that the battery had been worn out, after all being used quite a lot since 2018. So the other day I replaced the battery with a third part spare - just to discover that the issue remains. I’ve made comparrisons with the controller I use as slave, and the master one will go to empty in less than half the time. Anyone else who’s had this problem?

I should ad that in 2018 I made the necesarry mod to use the Switch system from Command Case / Titan Drone Systems, which means opening the unit, remove and un-wire the original antennas and attach coax cables from the Tx board that go to the click-on antenna connectors. But I can’t understand how this mod - or even any mistake I could have made - would affect the current draw in such a dramatic way. I send the question over to the guys att Titan Drones as well and they were as puzzled as I.

If you have a FLIR camera, I would look for heat signature. In lieu of a camera, either a laser temp gun or even your own hands feeling around the case might reveal excess heat. I would compare the two remotes.

One other source of power consumption on the master which makes a noticeable difference is if you have it set to charge your iPad while using it.

Good advice. The power has to go somewhere. Today I took a digital kitchen thermometer to compare the temperature by the fan outlet of each unit. Did five readings each, alternating between the two. Practically no difference at all! Might need to open it up again to get closer to the circuit boards to check if there’s an unusuall amount of heat dissipating from somewhere. But if the power doesn’t leave as heat, where does it go? As more radiaton from the antennas?

Have you considered that your battery’s capacity is way down? As Lipo batteries age their capacity in mah decreases. If you open up the controller, you may be able to cycle the battery with a Lipo charger to see what the actual capacity your battery is capable of.

Did you read the OP's first post?
