Hi all, im having issues updating my x3 firmware. I had to replace my x3 after a bad crash, bent gimbal smashed case, but the replacement I got had a firmware version of 1.10.x.x whereas the original was the same as the bird 1.11.01.50.

no matter how many times I reflash the firmware, the camera stays at 1.10, I have thought of downgrading but I’m not sure I want to do that yet. But if I have to…

any work around?

one thing I noticed is that the camera firmware version in the app has a + sign at the end of it, am I right in thinking it’s locked and can’t be upgraded or downgraded?

TIA

How are you upgrading the FW? What method are you using? How long are you waiting? FW changes can take up to 40 minutes. What does the log file say? Publish the log file here.

Not nearly enough information to answer that question.

I use the SD card method and force the update with a debug file on card. As far as I'm aware, the upgrade finishes successfully, but the camera firmware stays the same.

log file attached, its the only one on the card

Interesting log file. It looks nothing like log files I have seen before. Log files usually look like this:

Let me ask you this; Does the camera work normally? If so, 1.10.xx may be the latest version for the X3 camera. I BELIEVE the X3 WILL update to v1.11.xx, but not sure. Your log file is raising a flag. It looks weird. More information needed regarding the origin of your .bin file and what your DEBUG filename looks like. I also need to know what your log filename is. Also include the filename of your .bin file. A screenshot of all three files in Windows Explorer will suffice.

That’s the results log found in the root of the sd card, it doesn’t give that much info apart from successful flash or not. the one I posted was the one in the hidden directory on the card.

I just bit the bullet and did a downgrade to 1.09.xx, interestingly the camera also did a downgrade, but to 1.08.xx, don’t know why. I then upgraded back to 1.11, but the camera still went to 1.10.xx, again no idea why. I’m beginning to suspect that the camera is older than the one that came with the bird originally and won’t go to 1.11 because of a hardware limitation. Reasonable assumption I suppose. Oh Well, it still flies, I should leave it alone 😆
