iOS Draw lines/box on map

On the iOS APP (don't know about the Android one) you can draw with your finger lines and shapes on the map.

I can't find what this is for - is it just a way for you to mark out areas that you might not want to fly into after take off as you might be too busy whilst flying ?

Wouldn't it be good if that became a 'ring-fence' that you could set and then the machine wouldn't go past those lines ?

Hi, I think that's the idea, you can draw a boundary to keep the inspire in, useful if near power lines or any other areas you may want to avoid.

It is to allow the pilot to plan his mission. It is not for waypoints.

Ok, I understand that and it is really useful to draw on the screen prior to taking off.

Wouldn't it be good "if" you could convert this into a geo fence - maybe in the future ?
