Map Settings Pilot App question?

Every once in a while when I look at the Settings under MAP
The Pilot App has the Green slide switch turned to ON by default for The China Mainland and Enable Amap for China Mainland.
I think it might only be when i Install or re-install the Pilot App (dont remember ...re-installed it so many times trying to figure out a couple issues.

Anyhoo my question is Why or What is this for? I always disable both. Am I correct in doing so?

I noticed that and thought I must have switched it on my accident, I will keep an eye on it from now on - thanks for the Heads up ZMan

You are right to disable them I am sure....
