RTMP server live streaming

We are wanting to push real time video to a RTMP server. We have got a Wowza cloud server but when it is activated it does not show the video. It shows on the iPad the transmission time and FPS but on the receiving side nothing but black screen and does not show connection. Anyone pushing live video to a RTMP server this way? We are looking for a more secure way to push live video than youtube. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you figure this out? I am trying Wowza on Microsoft Azure cloud and haven't gotten it to work yet.

You could try a local RTMP server and see if it works that way. There's an Australian broadcast program called vMix that will let you bring in RTMP streams, etc., overlay HD graphics, and push the final product out to Wowza. At least that way you'll know if it's a local problem, or a problem with Wowza. And once you get it working you'll have a much more powerful streaming platform.
