Found this beautiful place in Somerset which used to be a Coal canal. Fascinating place.

FX is subjective I suppose. Will be loved by some and hated by others. Be a boring world if we were all the same, eh?Personally I felt it added warmth and emotion and made the filming with a bit of 'soul' Besides, I'm one of those 'arty farty designer types'! Hard to do something ordinary:)

But the FX should be motivated by something in the film. In this case, it would have been the sun--your key light. You introduced an effect that would not have been there otherwise, with maybe one or two exceptions. Anything that is added to enhance should not shout: "Hey! Look at me! Aren't I neat?" And with effects, that's not at all hard to do.

Perhaps "ordinary" is subjective as well.

Just a bit of artistic license, nothing more.
You seem well versed in film work judging by your past posts I've read? Can you share some of your work with other filmographers here as it would be great to learn from someone who has such a keen creative eye?
