Aircraft inspire 1 pro v2.
With auto undercarriage set to on.
Some times when flying around well above 10m the UC moves to its down landing position.
I can manually raise the UC when this happens, but then it does it again a few mins later.
Some times I can come in to land manually and the UC does not go down when in auto UC is set to on. Even when gimbal is almost scraping the floor.
Anyone experienced this and is there a reason that can be corrected ?

Welcome to my world. A world where I do not trust the UC to come down correctly.

When I first got my inspire I did a normally landing, watched the UC come down as I got near the ground but I also landed before it was fully down. The camera landed first. It did not damage the camera or gimbal, but I thought it was strange that it did not come down sooner or prevented further descent until fully down.

Now, I manually lower the gear at a much higher altitude than the automatic altitude and do not continue my descent until it is down.

I believe there was another thread where it retracted the landing gear after first lowering it.

This weekend I did the four back and forth to move from travel mode to landing mode and it appear to go from travel mode to flight mode. The gimbal was not attached so no harm done, but it should not have done this. BTW, I was on concrete.

I simply do not trust the UC to come down correctly. Or more correctly stated I do not trust the vision sensors to know where the ground is. YMMV

Area21,

What version of the firmware do you have?

1.9.1.10 was updated to 1.91.30 to correct a problem with the vision sensors. You may want to try this update.

The firmware was not up to date.
All now updated to the following: App Version 2.8.4. Aircraft Version 1.9.1.30. Transmitter Version 1.6.0. Camera Version 1.9.1.10.

So off to club site this afternoon to flight test it.

After 2 hours at the flight field last night thinking about all I have read on this and other multi rotor forums. I chickened out and decided to Not fly with the 1.9 firmware.
With all the firmware problems being openly discussed with the Inspire 1 Pro and what I feel is a poor response from DJI. I have at the moment lost counsumer confidence. I fly aircraft with DJI WKM and A2 systems and never experienced any problems. But with my Inspire that was on 1.7 firmware it has already cost me after just 4 weeks £1400 for a replacement gimbal that was not due to pilot error. So I down graded to version 1.8 this evening and the Inspire pro flew well that reached my expectations. Sorry DJI but you need to be mindful of your existing customers as well as your future potential customers and hope your actions are enough to change my feelings. I have spent many thousands of pounds on DJI products but now feel somewhat dissatisfied.

After reading what Dave Armbrust posted on a different thread I reinstalled the 1.9.1.30 firmware on my Inspire 1 pro and after a very successful 35 min flight test this afternoon. I can report it does what it says on the tin.
I am pleased to say I experienced no problems on the 1.9.1.30 firmware. very satisfied DJI customer again.
Adrian.
