Warranty Dispute with DJI

I have an Inspire-2 with a battery stuck in the compartment. I sent it off to DJI for repair, expecting them to fix it no questions asked, as I have had it less than one year. DJI is blaming the problem on my having either dropped or crashed the drone. They are citing scratches on the hull as evidence. From my perspective, I have never noticed any scratches on the drone, it has never been dropped or crashed, and has been handled with great care. I am thinking that the battery release mechanism is not working due to a cheap spring that has worn out already. I am wondering what recourse I have, and if other people have had trouble with DJI denying claims.
