Hello all!

My X7 arrives later today and I have only had experience with the X3 (i1) and X4s on my i2 so I have been trying to find some tutorial / walkthroughs on how the focusing system works but I cannot seem to find that info. Obviously, maintaining focus on the S35 sensor will be a bit more difficult than the X4s so I’m trying to do some research before my first flight with the new cam.

I’d appreciate any info you all can share.

I have not yet but only because my X7 didn’t arrive yet. It was supposed to arrive today but was delayed. I definitely will use the peaking though; it’s amazingly useful on my Amira and other production cameras.

One of the other things I’m curious about is how to touch to focus while piloting? Or how to maintain focus while doing a “push” into an object / subject?

So I received my X7 and 16mm this morning and I have a couple issues / questions...

1: It appears I have the “no lens” issue. I searched and found the “twist in the direction as if I was removing the lens without touching the release button” and that appeared to fix it but will this be an every time event?

2: How do you engage / adjust the built-in ND of the 16mm?

This setting is on the menu brought up by pressing the gear icon in the camera settings display. Sorry I can't fire mine up right now to show you.

But bring up the camera settings menu, and you will find three icons along the top; one for video, one for stills, and a gear icon. Press the gear icon, then scroll down until you find it.

Thank you very much. I haven’t had a chance to take the new camera out for a test flight but that is on my list for tomorrow so I’ll look for that.

Thanks again.

Ok so I just returned from my first flight and I have a couple follow-up questions if anyone can help...

1: I keep getting a warning that says "auto exposure is locked" or something similar flashing on the screen. It's as if it thinks I am trying to adjust exposure but I am not even touching the screen.

2: Is everyone running with the stock settings or are you dialing the up/down the sharpness? I am recording in DLog and Cine EI mode. It seems almost as if it has a bit of that "fake sharpening" applied in-camera due to how the edges look but yet the footage is not overly sharp - I was actually hoping it would have touch more "true" detail in the images but definitely better than the X4S.

3: When in Spotlight Pro mode does it automatically focus or not? It is difficult to judge since I only have the 16mm and was at f.4

4: Also, is it accurate that these DJI lenses (specifically the 16mm if it differs from lens-to-lens) is sharpest at f4.0-5.6? I have read that somewhere but cannot remember where now.

The lens is sharpest between f/5.6 - f/8. My resolution tests verified this for all the lenses.

The “auto exposure locked” message will pop up every time it does an auto focus ... quite normal.
