Battery Charger

So I just received my I2 and of course its raining here in PA. With that said, I notice on the bottom of the battery charger there is a mini USB port. I am to assume that is for updates for the charger? If so, does it update via the DJI Assistant?

If there is an update there will be an update program posted on the DJI website.
