I will first be checking if there is any way to retrieve a trigger signal from the controller ports but opening up the remote might be the most realistic way...

I initially thought about mounting it dead center behind the GPS, but didn't want to fabricate a mount to a curved surface.I just bought the same one only it goes over the top behind the GPS
