New Firmware v1.3.0.00 Aug 4 2015

Improved vps stability?
Does this mean i can b line 4ft above ground at 30 mph & let go off the sticks and she hold position?
its for flying indoors i believe. not sure if it does anything if you are in gps or atti mode, i would assume not but cant say for certain. I never fly indoors so id disable it in an attempt to eek out a few more seconds of flight time.

advanced settings: smart go home
whats that about?
I had to ask that one myself. It is a function that has always been there. It is the point where the aircraft calculates that it has the minimum power remaining to return safely to the Home Point. It is indicated by the moving dot on the power remaining line. The change in 1.3.0.0 is that you can now turn this function off.

Updated earlier today. Went smoother than expected. I1, two remotes, and 5 batteries done in about an hour. Noticed some changes. IPad mini 2 doesn't get nearly as hot as before. Found adjustment for gimbal roll to correct tilted horizon problem. Top speed in GPS is slightly slower but it is still possible to get 65mph in ATTI. Video stability is about the same as compared to the last firmware. Excited for GS update in future.

Good review MP.com. I mentioned in an earlier post yesterday that my updates went very smoothly & without any worries too. Today I went to the field and fully stress tested the i1 on 4 full batteries & pleased to say that it was all good. Must say I remain fully in awe of this developing technology. Safe flying mate.

Any successful ^untold^ story, about Android based pilots, upgrading to new 1.3.0.00 &go app, so... AC, RC, and Batt smooth upgrade, and a happyy ending report?
I'm still grounded due to heatcore/lag/crash app, on Android based Note pro 12.2 samsung device, reluctant to change to ipad air 2....
I can't wait for an Android based app &upgrade...
Any successful story for Android guys?

I'm on Android and now I get full disconnect on my Inspire and P3 after 6-8 minutes. Have to force close the app to get it back. I should have stayed with if its not broke don't fix it.

I guess I will spend hours on the phone with tech support on Monday...

I'm too lazy to charge the remote trick.

Just keep it in a low hover. You can override the auto land with a little up stick, or maybe alot of up stick, but it works.

As everyday goes by i realize that this field is just not meant for everybody that has a couple grand to spare.....

Don't have just a couple grand to spare, just used to the phantom is all and transitioning to the Inspire....excuse my ignorance on a new operating system, after all I am sure you were perfect on your first flight

For those installing the new FW 1.3.0, you are advised that this changes the battery management algorithms which may lead to shorter battery flight times. You may also find that your battery life percentage also drops. There is a need to reset the battery to recalibrate its life.

To do this you need to carry out the following:

1. Charge battery to 100%.

2. Carry out a continuous discharge to 5% WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. This means hovering the aircraft just above the ground or on the ground with the throttle up and cancelling all RTH and low battery warnings.

3. Recharge the battery to 100%.
sorry buddy, thanks for the instructions, but I have a question, do you first upgrade the firmware on I1, RC, and batteries and then perform the continuos discharge, or you do that before upgrading? I wanted to wait a few weeks to upgrade my inspire, but turns out my tablet and iPhone already auto upgraded the app so I'm not sure if I can still fly with the new go app and last firmware. Greetings from Mexico City!

I updated my remotes fw, installed new app, then the inspire fw, then my spare batteries fw each one at a time, next IMU calibration, then outside for compass calibration, then one at a time to 5% on each battery.

Just my process for what it's worth.

You need to complete your FW upgrade on your I1, your camera (as fitted), each of your batteries and your RCs. Provided that the I1 and RC are not switch on at the same time, the order is irrelevant. DJI procedure, however, says to do the RC last.

Then with the FW in the batteries updated, you can then do the 100%-5%-100% to recalibrate the battery software.
