NVME instead CINESSD?

Hi! I didn't find any info... But CINESSD is, in the core, just a NVME in the enclosure (yes, with some electronic...)

Long time ago I saw a thread in a Russian forum, someone tried to use a standard NVME but without success. It was years ago (seven years? Can't remember), can't find it anymore.

So, the question is: is someone did some research about this possibility? I can't believe that it is really impossible.
