I was having trouble not seeing the camera picture inside the the DJI app, it always said "disconnected". I replaced the USB/HDMI output module on the bottom of the controller and that brought the camera picture back. However, now I don't receive any other data other than the picture from the camera. I cannot change camera settings, flight mode, see GPS signals, etc.

Does the firmware need to be updated on the controller and the Inspire 1?

Now that I think about it, I'm guessing the new USB/HDMI board is on a newer firmware than the controller. I have purposely left the controller and Inspire 1 on a older (reliable and my more stable in my opinion) version of firmware. I tried to re-run this old firmware "upgrade" on the controller but nothing happened. Is there a way to force the controller to run an older firmware install?

I have replaced many hdmi and video downlink boards, and have always had to update firmware on the controller to sink everything together.
