Static buildup?

I cant find a thread on this,

but yesterday, in around 36 celcius, I made my first two flights, after each of them, when picking up the Inspire near the GPS antenna I received a static shock.

Has anyone else encountered this? It cant be a good thing for static to be building up on it.

Today two flights were made in more heat, and no static.

I would think your humidity would have a bearing! Every time I used to fly in to Amarillo, TX. The humidity is so low(15%) I would always getting a static shock when I put my hotel key to the lock on the door in the motel.
