I was under training to fly with this company. However, I had a car accident and couldn't finish my training. I later had triple bypass surgery and I don't fly business anymore. The instructor I had was SHot! Before you start, make sure you get the written game plan and all the information you will need before starting the job. You will not have much time to learn the after flight requirements. Up load pictures and video from 3-5 towers a day, then fill out the daily forms and download the site information for the next days travels. I say travels as when I was training, we started at daylight and the sites could be 50-100 miles apart. Make sure you have a fuel efficient vehicle, but with enough cargo space to carry at least 4 drones, 3 laptops, 2 3D cameras. One you will have to buy at $2900, called a Matterport. The other one they provide. To carry on about the vehicle cargo. Two weeks worth of clothes, summer time plan on multi sets of underwear and socks. Hard hat, steel toe shoes, highvis vest, a safety rope for when you have to work the array on a building roof, at least 10 cans of wasp spray, bolt cutters and spare combination pad locks. With it being winter now, you may need a 4-wheel drive for the snow prone areas. A big "to have" is a way to recharge the batteries while out in the field. I had a small inverter that would charge 2 phantom batteries and a car adapter charger that would charge 1 battery, This was between sites. I had 30 Phantom 4 batteries at that time. Also a roller cart is nice to move all this gear into your hotel room each night. I assume that most of you not fly the smaller DJIs and some of the other brands. Just remember you will be flying just 10 feet off the tower, around in a programed circle, from top to bottom. Oh, and make sure you have fast read/write high GB microSDXC disks. Just one tower can produce 4500 drone pictures and then you have 500 ground pictures taken with either a phone camera or other 16 pixel and above small camera, used to take pictures inside the electronics cabinets. Oh, I almost forgot about the uploads from the 3D cameras. I was taught to take them cabinets first and leave open, then the 3D cameras, close the cabinets. and do the drone shots. During the drone flight the 3D cameras would be up loading. Oh, Oh. Plan on having a mobile hotspot. You will not always have cell service or close to an internet source. I had one from Verizon. I cost $470 and then $29 a month. It was worth it!
Any other questions, contact me. I also did cell towers for Fly Guys and other companies. Before I retired, I was just doing property inspections for Bees360.
