Very cool video... I am impressed... The other video though, not so much. As soon as I saw it on Facebook I replied, "Thanks for taking away everyone's right to own a drone you a$$..." Seriously though...if you're gonna do something like that... don't post a video that's gonna make it harder for everyone else to have fun NOT putting weapons on their copters... I love guns and I love drones... but sheeez... have a little common sense..

I do appreciate the innovative idea behind the project, however, the controversy over the whole issue in the media is what worries me and so many other pilots. Only the outcome of the FAA investigation will determine how the public responds and reacts toward our hobby and profession. Wish Us Luck Pilots!!

I have no idea under what conditions this test was conducted; therefore, I have no opinion on how it should he handled. This is what we have the authorities for. Let them investigate and make a determination. I am certainly not willing to execute the autonomic response that far too many people's minds have been trained to have regarding firearms.

I could be wrong on the timeframe, but 2 years ago on the TV show "Sons of Guns" they build a Drone that fired a Glock (I think) in a 6 O'clock position that could target acquisition very accurately... A prototype with future orders Not a peep was ever mentioned in the Drone/UAV/Quadcopter or whatever it was called that day....

Last year after the same kid had that encounter with the girl on the beach, the state initiated rules against using any RC aircraft in a Connecticut state parks. Even though that issue was clearly not his fault. Since I am from this state, I worry about what new set of rules will result from the kids latest charade. If he really wanted to try this out, I say go ahead, but don't post the freakin video. In fact, next time it may be better for everyone in the hobby if he yawed the craft 90 degrees CCW before testing.

I love it when people in other countries try to take US citizens to task for things. Guess what? Every country does something that will piss someone off. Better to just get over it and find something productive to do.

If it was commercial with an "N" number then it would be weaponizing an aircraft. The FAA has made it very clear that if you stay below 400 ft and more than 5 miles from an airport and do not accept money for the flight then they don't want anything to do with drones operated operated under these rules.

Myth busters uses a platform and remote switch to fire weapons all the time. This kid just happened to have a platform that moves.

I'm not arguing if he should or if it's safe as I have no idea how the demo was performed, and without specs on the trigger no one can say if it would fire if it crashed or tipped over. Any gun owner could drop a gun on the ground at any time causing an un planned shot, so by the same justification its unsafe to ever handle a loaded weapon.

DJI into military designs??? They should fix there customer support model before working with the military.
