I had a small crash about a week ago, enough to damage the Z3 camera. It gives me the gimbal overload status. It does the dance on start-up but noticed it struggles to pitch but will do so. I've taken it apart to see if anything inside is loose or broken, all of the workings inside seem to be controlled magnetically? Has anyone tried repairing their own

If you cannot repair it and you want to replace it, I have a new replacement from DJI that I do not use, Flown one time for 15 minutes just to insure it was working properly. Everything was 100%.

Had a similar incident a year ago, little nose smack on snow pack/ice driveway. Nothing noticeable on the I1 or Z3, but behaved poorly on yaw & roll. I personally thought it looked like the gimbal Arm was ever so slightly bent. I took it down, couldn't see a problem and created a DJI ticket and sent it in, they basically refreshed the whole camera & returned in about 10 days... I ponder if all new parts except for Z3 white housing. Worked great when returned.

Before placed it on a shelf in parts bin, I'd send it in for an evaluation & repair.
The stage you've disassembled, doesn't that require a re-calibration of the gimbal motors now? That was another reason I sent in, wasn't sure if my reassembly was as accurate as desired.
Good Luck!

I will have to keep this in mind even if I do have the current one fixed. I plan on adding another inspire 1 in the near future

I didn't come across any of the magnetic nuts that are found in the X3 which was odd. The camera when I reassembled it produced the same issues and responded the exact same when given commands. Do you remember about how much DJI charged you.

On that one... I think the full refresh: new body, gimbal, camera, etc.... actually looked like they simply swapped with new camera. I think it was in the $200 range... +/- $20.
Rebuilt another one and it was in the mid-$200's.
