1.2.1.0 up on DJI download page

To Everyone that answered ALL of my questions yesterday:
Thank you so much! My upgrade was effortless! I got up early before work this morning and it flew better than ever!
This forum provides a wealth of knowledge and members are always willing to help - even when some of the questions have already been answered.
A BIG thanks!
Happy flying - Peter

My Upgrade went pretty smoothly. First did the AC & one battery, then both controllers, then second battery. Have not yet had a chance to fly it. Seen several posts about new Android app having issues after launching the Inspire, so I will wait until I see that sorted out.

Correct. I'm still running the previous iOS app software on my iPhone 6 and have a list of all firmware status' through the "cog > about" menu. On my iPad (with latest software it only displays app and aircraft. All 3 of my TB47's are running on 3.03.

Hansniew, that's interesting that you have 2 TB47's on 3.04. All 3 of my 47's say that I'm running the latest software on 3.03.

Can anyone find release notes that represents these numbers and when they we're released/upgraded?

Interesting, I wonder why they removed that? Oh well, I only had one battery that wasn't on 3.03 which was the one that came with the Inspire, the other 3 I bought about a week afterward and they all had 3.03.

Because it caused too much confusion! Different hardware versions took different firmware modules and when people compared notes there was all sorts of differing results due to hardware builds.
This way, people see version number and are happy.
You can never please all the people all the time but this SHOULD quash some concerns.

True...gotta make it easy for everybody

Different hardware version?!?! Can you please explain this further?

Editor was correct, I'm running the previous app version 1.0.2 on my iPhone 6 (not for any particular reason). I just haven't updated it yet as I use my iPad mini to fly my inspire on version 1.0.3. It's kind of handy being able to see all the different firmware versions so I will probably keep this version on my phone.

I will get a screenshot of my "about screen" on 1.0.2 with all the firmware versions when I get home after work. (just for interests sake).

I tried to update my Inspire 1 to the latest firmware, and the aircraft firmware update failed. It was going okay for some time (with DDDD sounds) but then started to make long beeping sound. I waited for maybe 20 or 30 minutes and then turned the aircraft off. The log said:

========== 2014.01.01 00:00:10 unsynchronized ======
Packet: WM610_FW_V01.02.01.00.bin
Result: Failed.
Reboot the aircraft and try to upgrade the firmware again.

I turned it on again and got the same sound and same log. Tried erasing the firmware file and copying it again, using different SD cards, formatting the card, all with the same effect. The video tutorial says this sound is the auto-repair and I should wait till it stops - I waited for 2.5 hours, my battery went to 50% and I turned it off.

So now if I start the aircraft with the f/w file on the SD card, it produces that long beep. If I remove the file, it starts okay, and the app says “firmware is latest” and shows the 1.2.1.0 version (BTW, I’ve also updated the Android app to 1.09), but says “No signal” - I cannot get any image from camera. I can start the motors, rotate the gimbal and take pictures but the screen is black with “No signal”.

Is there anything else I could try? Is there a way to revert to a previous firmware version or previous app version?

Thanks.

did you update the remote control?
if that fails they probably want to see the contents of the hidden file in [SDCARD]:\MISC\LOG\.....TXT

I too had exactly the same results. Aircraft keeps stating update firmware failed, reboot aircraft and try correct steps!
I have tried everything possible and what I have read on the internet, but the results are no different.
The 2 RC's upgraded fine, but I have no video on the 2 monitors. OSD is there, but no picture.
Contacted DJI and as usual, they were no help at all. I must have tried the upgrade firmware process over 30 times
now and still get the exact same results. LOG file says "failed version check".
Anyone have any suggestions?

There will be a 2nd text file on the SD card at [SDCARD]:\MISC\LOG\.....TXT
Open that and it may hint at what's going on...

And it seems you have to leave the remote OFF on this firmware batch...

I also had quite a time upgrading the firmware, the inspire took 3 goes and the rc took 3 goes finally its all upgraded and needs a compass
relcalibration now--tomorow
Also I had to use the cable from the camera to the rc to get the firmware on the rc to finally get a solid green staying light

Yes, I am aware of the 2nd text file. It basically shows this everytime I try to do an FW update:

DJI said the missing devices are the camera, but I found elsewhere that
it is the air encoder(08) and the air USB(15) whatever those are.
It is very consistent and I get these exact results no matter what I try.
Also, tried with RC off and on many times.

Yikes... :(

I really wish I knew more about how DJI laid out the network on these birds...
My W.A.G. is it's a CAN bus like setup with over 17 modules plugged into it...
The 17 listed modules are reflashable... or they are supposed to be...

Yes, the remote update went well. The log contents are:

Okay, the "[00022370][15 00] device not detected." seems to be the camera - that's what support said. They advised to unload and reload the camera onto the aircraft and if it does not help, send them the aircraft for a repair. And that didn't help :(

Followed the DJI Firmware update procedure, NO issues... Updated 3 additional TB48's and two RC controllers.

Then Calibrate your compass and i did a IMU calibration as well. Reviewed everything whit IOS IPAD Mini 2, and IPAD Air 2, Master and Salve, all seem OK.. I did notice that the inspire RED marker or craft pointer now seems to point correctly to magnetic north on the MAP.

It's raining here but should clear up later this afternoon and then I will test fly and report my results.

Thanks DJI and keep it coming! Love to have the number of satellites listed on the app and GROUND STATION to be added... Then we are cool!

Update you all later!

Best regards,
Steve
