3DR re-Orients to the Corporate Market

I am surprised as the Enterprise market would not be using such a consumer-grade quad more like an Aibotix, Sensefly type of RPAs

Paired with a sensor and post-processing software solution, SOLO is a capable portion of an overall product. But the value is wrapped up in the larger end-to-end offering.

Unfortunately, the RPA / drone itself is already largely commoditized. In the case of the business I support, we're focused on either custom-built systems (such as the X8) or off-the-shelf solutions from DJI due to their extremely robust set of software options and low price.

While I continue to cheer for an active and highly competitive market in the recreational/consumer space, SOLO doesn't look like they'll be a future player. At least we still have Blade, Yuneec, Walkera, Parrot and a number of other options in the mix.

What remains to be seen is how 3DR continues to play a role in the market...

Absolutely agree.
Unless they move to a more specialised area, I doubt they will play any role in the market.
I have a 3DR Iris+ for recreational purposes and the pixhawk was the main differentiator, now after 2 years, it feels seriously dated.
