Hi,

Still trying to solve no video transmission. I just looked at the ribbon cable in the nose. It appears it may have been crashed in the past. The ribbon cable looks like it may have been coated with liquid electric tape?? The camera operates fine and takes photos/videos just no transmission to iphone.

Any ideas on if replacing the cable will fix the transmission problem?
Thx

Aircraft is 1.8.1.00

Camera 1.8.1.00

Remote 1.7.60

I have two versions on iphone/ipad. The same results

GOApp 3.1.68

GOApp 3.1.80

I am 90% sure that your transmission woes are due to a discrepancy between the bird's firmware and the Remote's firmware. Honestly, I'm surprised the RC communicates with the bird at all. Running FW v1.08.1.0 in the bird, the RC should be running firmware v1.6. Rolling back is done through the remote, which must be connected to a tablet (my experience is with iPad only).

Hey! I resemble that remark!...<;^)

I turned 62 a couple weeks ago. Does that count as "elderly?" Hmmmm....

Ahhhh...the ol' "Hamburger" as it is called. I have two theories:

1) Installing an older version of the Go App (v3.1.1, as recommended earlier) is what you may need. Unfortunately, while installing older apps on iPads is entirely possible, it is a rather difficult hack.

2) Perhaps DJI simply changed the icon from a graduation cap (which honestly looks more like a box to me) to the more contemporary hamburger. So, in that case, simply holding your fingers on the "hamburger" for the prescribed "5 Mississippi" may net the desired results.

It's too bad you're not in my area. We could use my iPad to attempt a roll back. The only reason the roll back might fail would be due to abandoned server issues @ DJI. In my mind it's a crap shoot. DJI tends to move their data within their ecoverse, which can be just as frustrating as abandoning said servers altogether. But I digress...

Or we could bind your Inspire 1 to one of my many spare controllers.

Sitting here thinking about it, I believe rolling back to v1.6 may be a two-step process. If memory serves (and it often doesn't), one must roll back to v1.7, and then roll back to v1.6. So...this little gem of information may help you in your quest for knowledge.

If you wish to dive down the "Go App v3.1.1 rabbit hole," let me know and I'll nudge you in the right direction. But be warned...it's not for the faint of heart. AND it's been years since I did the hack (as I never allow any of my older iPads to update ever), and I only had to do it once. So I will have to literally reteach myself how to do this hack.

Best of luck.

D

P.S. If you reach the end of your rope, you can ship your controller to me and I'll be happy to roll it back for you.
