having trouble with remote update, light stuck on blue

I tried downgrading remote and got it to 1.8.0 but its still stuck with the blue light on and it won't do anything, any help would be appreciated thanks, the bird is on the latest firmware 1.11.

I think the RC firmware and the drone's are linked to each other to be compatible, i.e. the old won't work with new, etc. When I upgraded the I2, old RC firmware wouldn't work unless I updated it to the newer version and re-linked them back up.
