I think I screwed up

I took the plunge and updated to the latest firmware. I followed the guides everyone else has been posted and it would not go into travel mode. So I downgraded the firmware to 1.7 since the older one was not on DJI's site. I got the RC downgraded as well as the AC. However, I think there is a mismatch in what is available in the DJI go app and the firmware on the site. It would not let me control the craft at all since it said there was a firmware issue.

So I decided to try and upgrade again waiting 30 minutes after the ok sounds started before doing anything. Well I got the same result. I have tried this several times and still get the same thing. Anyone know of a way to get this back working?
