Hello,

Ive just purchased an I1 with X5R camera. The package also includes seven batteries, two of which are the higher-capacity batteries.

As soon as it artives want to find out the condition of all the various parts and peices. For example, im curious what kind of condition all the batteries (including controller), are in. How does a guy do that with used equipment? What else should i do right off the bat (ie before i even fly it)? Thanks very much in advance!

I’d like some advice on this also. I’ve had my used Inspire 1V for a couple of weeks now and the same questions pop up in my head. It flys amazing and I’d like it to stay this way.

Look at the batteries to see how many charges are on them. Condition them all. (Discharge to 8% then recharge)
Check all screws on the AC to make sure none are loose. Other than that, a good visual inspection.

Thanks. Found instructions online for how to build a discharger. Will do as you suggest.

Hover the bird until the battery reaches 0%. When it reaches 10% you're going to have to hold throttle to keep it flying . Shut it off let it cool, turn it back on in the bird until the battery shuts itself off. Then do a full charge.

there's plenty of about this procedure. Don't listen to all the people who run around waving their arms in the air at the world's coming to an end. This procedure will not harm your batteries

Thank you very much. I appreciate the clear instruction. I assume when you say "turn it on back in the bird", you mean turn it on but don't start the props? No need to reply if that is correct; I'll just do that. If I misunderstood, thanks in advance for the clarification.

One additional question.....I'm comfortable now (I think) with "reconditioning" the batteries myself (in a nutshell: discharge to zero and then fully recharge). I'm wondering what to learn from "how many charges are on them"? And also, what of imbalances between individual cells, what then? Thanks very much in advance!

Also, yes, I have come to understand that "zero" is really a "safety zero" (min safe voltage), rather than a reflection that the battery has been fully depleted/discharged (which *could* actually hurt a LiPo battery. Thanks.
