Repair cost - arm replacement

Hi Guys,

I have a favour to ask for anyone who has had an arm replaced by DJI.

I sent a mate to the shop where I used to work, as I didn't have the parts to hand to do the repair, and to put it politely, they've attempted to take advantage of him.

I'm most interested in seeing the time DJI charged for replacing an outer arm, which was likely charged as an entire arm assembly,

So if anyone can PM me a copy of an repair invoice or post the costs breakdown from DJI I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure which arm you're referring to but when I had a crash, I was shocked at how cheap the repairs were from DJI. I snapped the arm at the T joint on the front of the Inspire (the front side tube part with the landing gear). They replaced the starboard tube but the center arms were intact. Here is my cost breakdown for reference:

Inspire 1 sweepback left outer arm component (pattern): 10 USD

Inspire 1 landing gear set: 10USD

Inspire 1 bottom shell component (this is the bottom of the airframe): 4USD

Inspire bottom vibration damping plate (the X5 camera mount): 3USD

Inspire top vibration damping plate (the upper part of the X5 camera mount): 3USD

DJI labor cost was 35USD an hour, they charged me 1 hour of labor to repair the arm, landing gear, and bottom of the airframe (which had cracked).

Emtea - thank you very much as yours was an almost identical repair and I had told my friend it was approximately one hours work - based upon all of the previous repairs I had done for the same damage.

With a little finessing of my search keywords - I have also managed to find other postings of similar repairs with costs breakdowns

I'll list them here for the reference and benefit of others - time taken does vary slightly as does the extent of the repairs undertaken.

Nice finds! Hopefully this will help people, if only they used the search function as well as you did.

Mine was repaired in Shenzhen China, so that may account for the labor rate differences we're seeing.
