X5 on DJI Osmo

Does anyone know if there is a firmware issue with "hot" swapping the new osmo firmware updated X5 from shooting on the OSMO back to the Inspire 1? Or is a firmware update needed between?

X5/X5$ can be freely moved between the Inspire and the Osmo. No need to change firmware in between, camera knows what system its connected to.

Does that sandpaper modification works on X5R? The structure of X5R near the connection port is slightly different than X5. It seems like X5R's pan motor is a bit closer to the connection port than X5.

No it will not work for the X5r. Even if it did fit, the weight of the X5r would make it an issue.

Ok, thanks for info. I have to get some kind of solution to get my X5R attached on Osmo and I have no time for wait the DJI adapter.

Do you think I can make your solution work if I use left hand to support the weight of the X5R?

It does not fit. You might be able to craft something. But I would find the adapter. I see a few on ebay that you will not have to wait for.
